- Author/translator/illustrator and distributor application details (biographical information, portfolio links, organisation details);
- Contribution details (amount, allocation, display preference, names of people you wish to honour or remember);
- Payment information, processed by our payment partner Stripe — we do not see or store your full card details;
- Email subscription preferences;
- Limited technical information (IP address, browser type, pages visited) collected automatically when you use our website.
2. How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- Process orders, contributions, and shipping;
- Review and respond to author, translator, illustrator, and distributor submissions;
- Send transactional emails (receipts, order updates, contribution confirmations);
- Send newsletters and updates where you have subscribed (you may unsubscribe at any time);
- Acknowledge supporters publicly on our website where you have given permission;
- Improve and maintain our website;
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Public acknowledgement of supporters
When you contribute to a forthcoming project, you may choose to be acknowledged publicly by full name, first name only, or anonymously. We will follow the preference you select at checkout. Names of people you list under "in honour of" or "in memory of" may also be displayed publicly alongside your contribution unless you indicate otherwise.
4. Disclosure to third parties
We share personal information only as needed to operate the website and fulfil our services. Our key processors are:
- Stripe (payment processing — based in the United States, with global presence);
- Sanity (content management — based in Norway and the United States);
- Vercel (website hosting — based in the United States);
- Shopify (book sales fulfilment — based in Canada, with global presence);
- Resend (transactional email delivery — based in the United States);
- Lightning Source / Ingram (print and global distribution).
Some of these providers may store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure our processors comply with appropriate data protection standards.
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose it where required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or with your consent.
5. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses essential cookies for basic functionality (such as remembering your shopping cart and form progress). We may use limited analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not use cookies for advertising purposes.
